A host of top indie rock acts will descend on Portland, Ore., in September for the sixth Musicfest NW. Among the artists performing throughout the city from Sept. 7-9 are the Black Keys, Silver Jews, Stephen Malkmus, Spoon's Britt Daniel, Jeremy Enigk, the Brian Jonestown Massacre, the Dandy Warhols and the Melvins.

Well, they certainly saved their best for last. The Bloomsburg Huskies wrapped up their successful yet frustrating season on Saturday with a dramatic victory over the Playoff-bound IUP Crimson Hawks. This season was an enigma for the Huskies. The team and fans have to be proud of the way the squad overcame early season obstacles to achieve a 7-3 record.

Alice L. Baumann, 86, of Watertown, died Thursday afternoon, Sept. 27, 2007, at the Watertown Memorial Hospital, from pneumonia, following a major stroke. She was proud to have survived two courageous bouts with cancer.
